If the UV-C lamp has been in continuous use for a pond season, the light output and sterilising effect will have decreased. To keep the pond water clear, it is recommended to replace the lamp annually. Its action is based on ultraviolet radiation, which attacks the cells of green floating algae and germs. In a short time, green water becomes clear again and the pond is a healthy environment for fish and water plants.
