Pond Care July

Pond owners with permanent aeration are always assured of oxygen supply for the fish.

No aeration in the pond yet? As soon as there are summer days with high temperatures, it is wise to aerate the water. As the water temperature rises, the oxygen level in the water drops. With exuberant plant growth in the pond, oxygen deficiency can also occur.

The Silenta Pro pump resists rainwater and is located next to the pond. The air hose carries oxygen to the air stone hanging in the pond. In the form of bubbles, the oxygen is delivered to the pond water. In addition, harmful gases are removed by the bubbling air bubbles and the aquatic biotope remains healthy.

Fish

There are also dangerous hunters on the move during the summer months who are not averse to a tasty snack. Especially in shallow ponds, where fish cannot hide well, they sometimes fall victim to a hungry heron or adventurous cat. Be alert to this and protect your fish! This can be done in an animal-friendly way with the Laser Guard, for example. It effectively scares away herons and cats.

With the higher water temperatures, the fish now also have a greater need for food. You may therefore feed them liberally. Occasionally give them some pre-soaked lettuce or a few earthworms. They like that!
