Bottom substrate for a biological balance in ponds

In both new and existing ponds, a layer of substrate on the bottom is essential for clear water and a healthy pond. The water-purifying bacteria bond to this substrate and start growing. Oxygen-rich water reaches the core of this porous material, which stimulates bacterial development and thus the self-cleaning capacity of the pond. Organic dirt is decomposed into nutrition for the pond plants.

Instructions for use: Preferably, before filling the pond, cover the whole pond bottom with 2 cm of substrate. In existing ponds, rinse the substrate before applying it in the pond. Do not cover up the substrate and keep it free from pond sludge.

Tip: Add a dose of Velda’s Bacterial. These water-purifying bacteria stimulate the development of the biological balance in the pond.

Tip: Use Velda’s Bio-Oxydator when sludge is forming. Organic bottom sludge is decomposed and acidification of the pond bottom is prevented.
