A waterfall in your pond
When you want a waterfall in your pond, you have the choice of a natural waterfall that flows down through natural stone or boulders, for example. Or a straight waterfall made of stainless steel. Waterfalls usually end up in a pond, but not always. In fact, it is also quite possible to create moving water in the garden. Even without a pond nearby, it is possible. For example, it can also flow into a dug-in tub or a pit fitted with pond liner, filled with pebbles and or gravel into which the water sinks and which then bubbles up again in another place. You then need a pump. You place this in the sump, from where it pumps the water back up. With a waterfall you can easily connect two pond parts, for example a fish pond with a plant pond.
A waterfall is useful
In addition to your own enjoyment, waterfalls also add value to the pond. The water circulation increases the oxygen level in the water which benefits the life in the pond.
With the watercourse, a bacterial development takes place between the rocks that helps to convert waste products in the water into nutrients that are useful for plants. If you then also provide (part of) the stream course with strongly nitrate absorbing marsh plants, you have a strong biological and beautiful natural filter.
