The silverweed, a skittish ornamental fish
The silver wrasse is a silvery pond fish with mostly dark-colored spots. It is a fast but skittish ornamental fish that can reach 25 to 50 cm in length. Its characteristics are similar to the other weasels and they are therefore good to combine with each other. Pond size determines how large silver windies eventually grow. Two-year-old windes are about 16 cm, five-year olds 34 cm and ten-year olds can reach 50 cm. The silver wrasse does not burrow in the soil and barely eats plants. The fish is known for its enormous jumping ability, which makes for a beautiful sight.

The silverweed is a strong fish that does not get sick easily. A powerful filter is definitely necessary because the fish likes clean water. The silver weasel can be kept with almost all other pond fish. In any case, place them in groups of at least five fish and no more than five fish per cubic meter of water.
TIP! from Velda
All windfish are jumpers and the edge of the pond should be such that these fish cannot easily jump out of the pond
Fish food for silverweed
The silverweed likes to eat a variety of insects in and around the water. For example, mosquito larvae, gnats and worms are on their menu. They also like small fish and their own eggs. In addition to natural, live sources, silverweed also eat pellet food. However, in the summer, when there are plenty of natural sources available, silver finches can do quite well without this extra food. They will therefore forgo the extra food offered. A well-balanced diet, served with special duckweed food will certainly benefit the intensity of the color. Although silver weasels are omnivores and carp-like, they stay away from aquatic plants. And they are low-impact fish for your pond.
