Sarasa, the most popular among goldfish
The Sarasa is one of the most popular pond fish due to its beautiful coloration. The fish hunts insects on the surface of the water and leaves your pond plants alone. They are strong fish that are rarely sick and can live up to 15 to 25 years. The Sarasa goldfish is a bred variety of the common goldfish. The fish have a red ground color with white spots and a single tail.
There are also varieties with a white ground color with red spots. Sarasa’s intense red coloration makes them somewhat reminiscent of the Kohaku Koi. Under the right conditions, the fish can grow as long as twenty centimeters. Sarasa’s are not too expensive, strong and hardy. Logically, they are the most popular pond fish.
Keep Sarasa’s in a group of at least five fish and no more than five fish per cubic meter of water (1,000 gallons).
